BIO
Jonathan “Joe” Wells is a founding partner with James & Wells, PSC, where he focuses his practice in family law, criminal law, and personal injury.

 

Mr. Wells also teaches or has taught business law, criminal law, and criminal procedure at Kentucky Technical and Community Colleges. He has also taught legal education in the areas of criminal law and family law. 

 

Before joining the James & Wells, PSC he served as a Staff Attorney at Franklin Circuit Court and Law Clerk at Todd & Walter.  Mr, Wells is a member of the Kentucky Justice Association, Founding member of American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys, Kentucky Academy of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Past President of the 12th Judicial Bar Association.

EDWARD JAMES

OF COUNSEL

BIO

G. Edward James was a founding member of James & Wells, PSC. Now mainly retired, he serves as counsel to the firm and continues to handle Workers Compensation, Personal Injury, Criminal, and Utility law cases.

 

Mr. James has practiced for over 46 years and is licensed to practice in Indiana and Kentucky. He is a former Superior Court Judge in Indiana and former Assistant Attorney General of Kentucky.

 

Before attending law school, he served in the United States Navy.

BEN WYMAN

TRIAL ATTORNEY

BIO

Ben Wyman is a trial lawyer with the experience, skills, and demeanor to win your case. Born in Augusta, Georgia, Ben has lived the majority of his life in Louisville, Kentucky. 

 

Ben's legal training began before law school when he served as a pastoral counselor, chaplain, therapist, pastor and social worker in a variety of settings. Working with clients who were required to go to court introduced him to the legal system.

While in law school, Ben clerked for the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, and later became an Assistant County Attorney, prosecuting a broad spectrum of criminal cases, from sex offenses to guns, drugs, and DUI’s.  

 

During his full-time service as a prosecutor, Ben maintained a family law practice in which he handled a wide variety of divorce and post-divorce matters. 

 

While representing clients, he is aggressive, relentless and zealous, yet he will maintain courtesy, civility, and respect for the opposing side, regardless of our disagreement.

Although Ben's primary office is located in Carrollton, Kentucky, he travels throughout the state of Kentucky, representing clients in courtrooms throughout the state.
